Hi guys. Decided to paint this in between my commissioned work, it was a watercolour sketch I did a while back that I liked as a caricature, but felt I could do more with. In photoshop, I rendered in grayscale, then coloured on a new layer in 'overlay' mode.

Really nice piece! I've tried to do the color overlay technique, but it usually makes all the values washed out. Do you make the the layer a "color" layer or "overlay"? You seem to have mastered the technique!

My son went to see him and Billy Joel last week and he showed me his iphotos and the funny thing is...he caught this same pose with Elton, as you had illustrated. Very cool!
