Da Vinci Caricatured

Mine is the one on the right. Oil on panel board 10''x11''. Spent 4 hours on this last night. Going by other reference, this might not be accurate, but it was fun to do. My palette was burnt umber, yellow ochre, cadmium red, french ultramarine, titanium white and ivory black.

Cheers guys. Nelson, maybe I should draw a few old women as well, just to balance things out.

I love the supercilious look he has and somehow, I don't know how, you've managed to hint at the Mona Lisa too... I'd like to see you tackle her.

Thanks for the comments on Mr. Peeves - I think you were right.

Nice Paul - I really love this. Your versatility in different mediums is to be envied.
As I told you before love the Capt Mainwaring in your Prince Harry sketch.
Keep up the good work !

I'm glad you indicated which one you'd painted, Paul, I wasn't sure!!!! <--LOL. You are getting to be a Master yourself.

Thanks guys. Bit of a coincidence that Dino posted on his History of Caricature thread on the NCN forum about Da Vinci's caricatures. Now there was a master caricature artist.

Which do you prefer ... photoshop or oils? Great work!

Thanks Jason. Chris, I'd have to say I prefer oils every time. You don't have to clean any brushes with photoshop, but I always have in the back of my mind that I'm not going to have an original for my efforts when working digitally.

I'm new at both, but I too prefer oils. I like being able to move around when I work.
