Stephen King Photoshop Painting Demo

Part One

Part Two

Well, as promised, the beast is here. The beast meaning Stephen King. Hopefully you'll find this interesting, it's the first time I've done one, let alone two, of these YouTube videos with speech. Please excuse the fact that I say 'Vertical' when I should have said 'Horizontal', plus any other verbal spluttering along the way! Hope you like it, thanks for watching!

Great one Paul. Love the exaggeration of King is superb. Great rendering and composition. Who much time took the complete piece?
Great stuff Paul, I prefer your hand painted stuff myself, but class nonetheless.

Thanks for posting these! I learned a lot in those twenty minutes.

For your brush choices, I heard you say you used a charcoal brush for the hat, and a hard round brush to block in, but what was the more natural brush that you used on the face, from part 1?

Thanks for the comments guys!

Edo: Quite a few hours, to be honest as it was over a few weeks, I wasn't counting.

Niall: I agree, can't wait to get back to them.

Eric: it was a charcoal brush again, just varied size and opacity/flow.

Thanks guys for the comments.

Tim, that's a fantastic find. As you left the message, I was visiting with my brother who lives a couple of miles from that very gallery. I think it must be fate. Thank you, I'll definitely submit some work!

Thanks for the brush info!

Interestingly, I was in Boston yesterday and Stephen King walked right by me on Boylston Street. He was wearing that same red hat! :)
