Latest Two Acrylics

These were pretty much finished at the same time. I was near to finishing the Angelina painting, when the next morning I woke up with the image of the infamous Nick Nolte picture in my head. Why? I have no idea!! But I knew it had to be painted, so I started it alongside the Angelina piece, and finished them both within a couple of hours of each other. Two very different sides of Hollywood, Beauty and the Beast if you will. These are both on canvas, 600 x 800mm.

Inspirational, man. You take exaggeration much further than I ever have- But stay true to the likeness, something quite a few "caricaturists" forget to do...

You planning a big exhibition anytime soon?

Nelson: calm down sir, sounds like you need to take a cold shower;)

Mark: thanks, as for the exhibition, I'm going to start looking for galleries asap, I'll be sure to update you on the blog.

Way to give those lips some well deserved detail!

These are really great!

That Nick Nolte is just great! I like the pattern of his shirt, it's not as sharp and detailed as his face.It makes him a bit sad because the flowers are so in contradiction with the expression of his face.

I prefer the Angelina, although there's something bordering on the Scarfe that I like in the Nolte... probably an immediacy of expression! Good work anyways!

There's an award thingy going around on the blogs at the moment, I've been awarded one, but I'm not into chain-letter like things, but If I was, I would be awarding you one for your damn fine blogging!

Thanks guys. Kevin, Scarfe is awesome, so much freedom in his work. Sometimes I love the highly rendered look, but at the same time it's good to break free from that and go completely in the opposite direction. Both should compliment each other.

You keep getting better and better Paul, I love both of these but the Nick Nolte really stands out. I love that loose style!

Both pieces turned out fantastic...the Nolte's got a "JLeal" quality to it!!

Awesome!!!
