McCartney Oil Painting

The finished oil painting from the sketch in the last post. The main changes were to the eyes and the shape of the cheeks. To improve the eyes, I watched one of my favourite all time music videos, 'Hey Jude'. Enjoy!

This sketch is to be painted in oils, and is inspired by my recent encounter with Sir Paul.

Mugabe sculpture wins

Thanks to all of the judges, and my congratulations to all the other contestants who finished in such style. This was a great contest, and I'm really pleased to have won.

Mugabe Final Composition

Final composition for the sculpture competition on the NCN forum (see earlier posts). The initial composition and idea was seen through to the end, but I wasn't happy with it, so changed it to what you see here.

Considering I'm no photographer, and I don't have a particularly good camera, I'm quite happy with the final result. I had to use a lot of light (500w floodlight), and play around with the colour settings in Photoshop. The lettering on the books is also done in Photoshop.
